Life is changing again, maybe for the better, maybe not. I moved out of Annapolis, and now I live in Baltimore now, in a little studio on Saint Paul Street.

If you’re a Bengals fan or just want the NFL to be more competitive, then read on. A group of outraged Bengals fans calling themselves Who Dey Revolution has been busy committing acts of subversion against the football junta that is the Bengals. First, they bought billboard ads around Cincinnati pleading with Bengals owner Mike Brown to hand over personnel duties to a general manager. Last week, they planted urinal cakes with the team’s record during Browns tenure (it’s like 80-190-1, or something terrible) with a message to “Get Pissed!” Now, it’s time for the letter writing campaign.

To learn more, Follow this link: http://www.whodeyrevolution.com/whodeyrevolution/2008/12/project-mayhem-task-7-send-a-letter-to-commissioner-goodell.html

Print out the letter, sign it, put it in an envelope, stamp it and send it to Roger Goodell. The crappiness has gone on too long. WHO DEY!!!!

Oh, they are playing the Browns this weekend in the second installment of the 2008 Disappointment Bowl (The first was last week’s matchup of the Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars.).

Okay, so I was at Tubachristmas last week in Baltimore.  It was a good event… probably the most fun I’ve had at an outdoor installment of this concert. The event was co-coordinated by a Jewish guy who loves Tubachristmas. That was odd enough, but what took the cake was when he pointed to a tuba player in the back of the group who had fashioned a Star of David from blue tape on his bell and referred to it as a “Jewsaphone.”

Also, some links in honor of the anniversary of Frank Zappa’s birthday (Dec. 21) and death (Dec. 4):

to the guy who stole the airplane toilet seat

To the guy who broke the toilet seat on my already delayed flight to Alexandria:

I wasn’t particularly angry about the fact that there was a broken toilet seat in the plane. Rather, I was upset that your dumb ass decided not to inform anyone as you deplaned. Your decision left me in some backward town with no car and I made me late for my first appointment of the following morning.

The airline officials say that you made off with half the seat.  What? Was that a souvineir of your trip? Did your personal commuter jet not come with the seat? Or at least was missing half?

Forget writing music criticism or presidential races. This is the stuff that matters; people overlook the real problems in their own communities every day (I am including myself in this statement.). If you live in a small town, this is happening there, too.

the little things

I went to a day long seminar on web development and newspapers today… the subject content was pretty standard: get on the web or be left behind, starting using multimedia content, etc., but lunch was fun because I got to talk to three of the Beacon-Journal’s web developers (one of whom happened to also be just leaving from her position as education reporter) and it just made me chuckle at the things that we all talk about on different levels of the industry.

Basically, we’re concerned about the same types of stories and content on different scales, but there are some things that just don’t compare. The three journalists were telling our photographer and me about the ins and outs of the Beacon’s parking garage, and where the best place is to park, since good spots are at a premium. I have never even thought about parking, since our biggest battle is a trumped-up dispute with the cable company next door parking their trucks in our lot, even though we have no shortage of parking anywhere. They also voiced a complaint about their card entry system. We still use old fashioned keys. I do get stuck behind buggy traffic, which I KNOW they don’t have in downtown Akron. So there.
