Can I just say that the reason Battlestar Galactica is such a good show that its producers are not afraid to kill THE most intruiging character in the show, despite not needing a ratings hike? The show’s creators did this on Sunday. Can I also add that this show is by far the best on television?

You needn’t answer me. I know you agree. Who wouldn’t? The show’s is filled with messed up characters who can’t seem to get it together. Nothing goes right for these people: they’re flawed, like real people. And, the most flawed of all, Starbuck, is a hard drinking, reckless pilot that inspires more in everyone around her than any other character. She’s by far the most important in this show. And they killed her… Frak!

Anybody who watches the nation’s best comedy, The Office, knows about Dwight Schrute’s obsession with Battlestar Galactica, the SciFi channel reboot of the disastorous 1970s television series and film. I’ve been watching this show on and off since it first aired as a miniseries a couple years ago and I’ve thought it was an excellent show. I am willing to pit this show against any bullshit Big-3 network drama out there because it’s smart, well acted and pretty engrossing. Starbuck is a chick in this version, and it’s got Edward James Olmos in it. Say what you will about the other shitty original series offerings from SciFi (Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Athens, New York, Chronos, etc., etc….), but this one is worth a watch. It also looks like it’s catching on in the world of TV critics:

Also, a new Jay-Z single has leaked from his new “comeback album,” Kingdom Come. It’s sounding very promising.

Top 5 stupidest things you hear as a journalist:

  1. Will you let me proofread that story before you put it in the paper?
  2. You always write about the bad things.
  3. You’re ruining my children’s lives.
  4. You may want to mention [totally self-serving, irrelevant crap] about me in the story.
  5. I don’t like what I said when you talked to me. Can we rerun the story?
